Sarrah E. Veatch

Sarrah E. Veatch, of Maunie, died Sunday afternoon, July 22, 2001 at the White County Skilled Care Unit. She was born on March 30, 1913 in Sikeston, MO, the daughter of William and Ida Mae (Simmons) Hamblin. She married Willard M. Veatch in 1929 in Mt. Vernon, IN and he preceded her in death on June 10, 1985.

Mrs. Veatch was a member of the Marshall Ferry General Baptist Church and a member of Eastern Star.

She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Cecil and Mildred Veatch of Riverside, CA and Robert L. and Betty Veatch of San Jacinto, CA; two daughters and sons-in-law, Elizabeth and John Hardeman of Riverside, CA and Doris E. and Billy Barnett of San Jacinto, CA, nine grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Willie, Sam and Carl Hamblin and one sister, Hazel Douthitt.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, July 24, 2001 at the Kittinger-Fair Funeral Home in Carmi.Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Monday, July 23, 2001 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Marshall Ferry Cemetery at Rising Sun.
