Janella Nelson
Janella Nelson 66 of Enfield died Saturday morning May 6, 2000 at her home. She had retired from Airtex in Fairfield after 45 years. She was a member of the Burnt Prairie Eastern Star No. 500, and was also a member of the Christian Church in Mill Shoals.
She was born April 25, 1934 in Mill Shoals, the daughter of Bert and Gusta (Hiley) Carter. She married Wayne Nelson June 20, 1959 in Carmi and he survives.
She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, John and Brenda Nelson of rural Enfield; four grandchildren, Brandon, Daniel, Emily and Matthew Nelson; six brothers and sisters-in-law, Kenneth Carter of Lancaster, CA, Robert and Lynn Carter of Enfield, Arthur and Elzie Carter of Mantera, CA, Danny and Debbie Carter of Springfield, Gerald and Geraldine Carter of Greentown, IN, and Richard and Paula Carter of Lafayette, IN; and five sisters and brothers-in-law, Dorothy and Gerald Clevenger of Mill Shoals, Patty Larch of Argenta, Rosie and Sammy Simpson of Barnhill, Millie Stuhlman of Decatur, and Rebecca Lane of Fairfield.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday May 11, 2000 at the Elledge Funeral Home in Enfield with burial in Kitty Sweeten Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. on Wednesday may 10, 2000 at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to the Southern Illinois Hospice.
